#80 - In honor of Father's Day yesterday, we wanted to share some thoughts on how we know The Father -- our Heavenly Father. To know Him is life eternal, and there's no better way to know and love Him than by looking to the example of His Son, Jesus Christ.

“I feel really, really humble to be speaking on this day, and to just give honor to my heavenly father, my father in heaven. Joseph Smith said that, it is the first principle of the gospel to know for a certainty the character of God. I want you all to know him, Joseph said.

And to be familiar with him. We must have a correct idea of his perfections, his attributes, and even an admiration for the excellency of his character. I hope and I invite the Holy Ghost to be with you today, to teach you or maybe to remind you of some things that our heavenly father is.

Even in the first article of Faith, the very first thing that we say is that we believe, number one, in God, the eternal father. President Nelson gave a talk a few years ago called Let God Prevail. And if you remember, one of the meanings of the name or title of Israel is a people that will let God prevail.
